The U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) Women Building Peace Award celebrates extraordinary women from conflict-affected and fragile regions working to build peace. On October 20, USIP honored the heroic finalists for the 2021 award and announced the award recipient.
In an effort to improve conflict mediation efforts and promote justice for women and people of diverse backgrounds, Women Building Peace Award finalist Tabassum Adnan is working with local authorities to open a women’s police station in the Swat Valley in Pakistan.
